Swift Microwave Thermotherapy
A highly effective and innovative therapy for the management of stubborn warts. It uses very low energy levels to vibrate and rapidly heat water molecules in the wart. The process uses targeted “heat shock” in order to trigger the body’s natural immune response thereby letting your body do the work. The temperature reached is only 42-45 degrees (just warmer than a hot bath) which means that it does not cause any damage to the surrounding tissue. Although some discomfort may be experienced during the application of heat, these symptoms generally cease immediately on completion and there is no aftercare or dressing required.
SWIFT has an 83% resolution rate which is currently higher than any other conservative wart treatment.
Custom Orthotics
Custom orthotics are manufactured individually to aid foot stability and alignment for optimal lower limb function. They may be used to manage biomechanical problems in the lower limb but can also be used to treat hip, back and neck alignment issues. A thorough biomechanical and gait assessment is carried out and followed by a 3D scan of the feet to ensure that any corrections made will be specific to the individual. These details will then be sent with a podiatrist’s prescription to a laboratory for production. The orthoses may require further modification on return to ensure appropriate fit and function. This will usually be completed by the podiatrist in our onsite workshop.
Nail Surgery
An ingrown, thickened or traumatised nails can often be treated conservatively in a standard appointment however, if the condition becomes acute or chronic, it may require greater invention. Nail surgery involves the removal of a segment of or, in some cases, an entire nail. This may be used to manage chronic ingrown, traumatised or problematic thickened nails. These procedures are performed onsite by experienced podiatrists under local anaesthetic. They generally involve shorter recovery time and minimal discomfort when compared to other techniques for problematic nails. These procedures do not require any time off the feet and generally people are able to return to normal activities immediately.
Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is a generally used in a multi-facetted approach to soft tissue healing. It creates soundwaves to penetrate into soft tissues in order to stimulate collagen production and promote healing of the tissue. It can be used to treat a variety of both acute and chronic conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinosis, and chronic inflammation. Not only does it aid the reparative process, it can also provide pain relief and improve joint mobility.
