We provide regular appointments for routine maintenance including - cutting of nails, dry/cracked heels, corns and calluses.
Diabetic foot care is especially important for the early detection of potentially serious neurovascular diabetic complications which may not only affect the feet but also overall health and wellbeing. We perform regular assessments on blood flow, sensation and skin/nail condition to prevent more significant concerns in the future.
Our clinic is equipped to assess and manage both acute and chronic wounds. This involves a thorough neurovascular assessment to determine healing potential and most appropriate method of care for optimal comfort and resolution.
Children are prone to a variety of foot conditions including ingrown nails, warts, foot/ankle/knee pains, sports injuries, muscle fatigue etc. Our podiatry team are trained to assess and treat a multitude of paediatric concerns in a fun, informative and friendly environment. Podiatry can also play a significant role in the early assessment, detection and prevention/management of many significant developmental conditions. An early biomechanical and neurological assessment can ensure that children are functioning and developing on an ideal pathway for injury prevention.
Sports injuries can stem from the lower limb in a number of ways. It may be a structural or functional problem, training overload or even inappropriate footwear. Treatment for these conditions may involve a variety of techniques including taping, shockwave, dry needling, stretching/strengthening, massage, orthotic therapy and footwear modification. We also work closely with other local health professionals to ensure a whole body approach.
Heel pain is one of the most common conditions encountered in a podiatry clinic. It can be caused by a large number of conditions including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy or nerve impingements. Depending on the presentation, treatment may involve taping, shockwave, dry needling, stretching/strengthening, massage, orthotic therapy and footwear modification.
Warts are a common and notoriously stubborn viral infection of the outer layers of the skin. They are caused by the Human Papillomavirus and can be very contagious if left untreated. There are a variety of medical and alternative treatment options available however some are much more effective than others. Our clinic routinely uses Swift microwave therapy for most effective treatment with no aftercare required.
The occurrence of calluses and corns is often caused by excessive pressure or friction however, can also be due to other factors such as skin conditions such as psoriasis, skin dryness or even footwear. Thorough assessment and regular debridement often provides relief and prevents further complications like cracked heels or painful deep corns. If corns become recurrent, footwear modification, offloading and alternative skin treatments can also be performed to ensure maximum comfort.
Ingrown nails are usually caused by a small spike or excessive pressure on the nail impacting the skin. This can lead to pain and possibly infection of the skin. Treatment involves conservative reduction of the nail to reduce pressure which generally resolves the concern and skin is able to heal. In some cases, a minor nail surgery may be required to permanently remove part of all of the nail to prevent further infection. This procedure can be performed in the clinic under local anaesthetic with minimal post op discomfort and no time off your feet.
A highly effective and innovative therapy for the management of stubborn warts. It uses very low energy levels to vibrate and rapidly heat water molecules in the wart. The process uses targeted “heat shock” in order to trigger the body’s natural immune response thereby letting your body do the work. The temperature reached is only 42-45 degrees (just warmer than a hot bath) which means that it does not cause any damage to the surrounding tissue. Although some discomfort may be experienced during the application of heat, these symptoms generally cease immediately on completion and there is no aftercare or dressing required.
SWIFT has an 83% resolution rate which is currently higher than any other conservative wart treatment.
Custom orthotics are manufactured individually to aid foot stability and alignment for optimal lower limb function. They may be used to manage biomechanical problems in the lower limb but can also be used to treat hip, back and neck alignment issues. A thorough biomechanical and gait assessment is carried out and followed by a 3D scan of the feet to ensure that any corrections made will be specific to the individual. These details will then be sent with a podiatrist’s prescription to a laboratory for production. The orthoses may require further modification on return to ensure appropriate fit and function. This will usually be completed by the podiatrist in our onsite workshop.
An ingrown, thickened or traumatised nails can often be treated conservatively in a standard appointment however, if the condition becomes acute or chronic, it may require greater invention. Nail surgery involves the removal of a segment of or, in some cases, an entire nail. This may be used to manage chronic ingrown, traumatised or problematic thickened nails. These procedures are performed onsite by experienced podiatrists under local anaesthetic. They generally involve shorter recovery time and minimal discomfort when compared to other techniques for problematic nails. These procedures do not require any time off the feet and generally people are able to return to normal activities immediately.
Shockwave therapy is a generally used in a multi-facetted approach to soft tissue healing. It creates soundwaves to penetrate into soft tissues in order to stimulate collagen production and promote healing of the tissue. It can be used to treat a variety of both acute and chronic conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinosis, and chronic inflammation. Not only does it aid the reparative process, it can also provide pain relief and improve joint mobility.
Archies Arch Support Thongs
With up to 2.2cm of orthotic support, Archies Thongs incorporate the same amount of support that you would find from an ‘off the shelf’ orthotic, however with the patented design, they look just like normal thongs.
The support found within Archies Footwear may help to support the foot in a more biomechanically appropriate position thereby easing the stresses and strains that would otherwise be transferred to the musculoskeletal system.

RockTape
RockTape is a premium brand of kinesiology tape. First used by acupuncturists and chiropractors in Japan, today kinesiology tape is used by a wide variety of health professionals throughout the world to both prevent and treat injuries and pain.
When applied correctly, RockTape’s unique elasticity causes the skin to form convolutions and wrinkle. This decompresses the tissue immediately below the skin. It is believed that this has three main effects:
Fluid effect- improving blood and lymphatic flow in the taped area
Mechanical effect- improving the slide and glide between tissue layers
Neurological effect- altering the perception of pain and improving body awareness.
