Hugh Matthews

Senior Podiatrist

Hugh graduated in 1984 with a Diploma of Applied Science (Podiatry) and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Podiatry) in 1985. Following his 1984 graduation, Hugh worked for 2 years at The Queen Elizabeth Geriatric Centre.

Hugh started his private practice in 1986, eventually moving into the current Sturt Street location in 1996.

Podiatry for Hugh is a wonderful combination of using good manual skills and application of knowledge and experience. Helping people to better function provides Hugh with motivation to keep working hard and to provide excellent service.

Hugh is delighted to be able to work alongside colleagues who are passionate about their profession and about continuing to gain knowledge in all areas of their lives.

Outside of podiatry, Hugh is very particular about his lawns (they are very green and lush). His garden is always looking wonderful too. This is all due to the gardening dream team - his wife Helen (gardener) and Hugh (labourer). For Hugh, his shed is a place of relaxation, where he will be found mostly tinkering away and not getting much done.

Lastly, but by no means least, Hugh’s role of grandfather is gaining momentum and providing him with a huge source of joy.
